The Art of Getting By

what do you eat?

Tuesday, October 24, 2006

I was a good girl last week. i finished my essay on time, went for all my dance practices and even went to the LIBRARY to do research. hohoho! i spotted a book called 'Strange Food' full of graphics, and happily sat down one corner to flip through.

GAhhhhhhh the pictures were bad. they are like bad porn, like those little advertorial icons you see on random websites that tell you not to click if you're not 18. yucccccck like why would i wanna click on a male genital.

Anyway, it is very unlikely that we would starve to death because you can seriously eat ANYTHING that can fly in the air, walk on the ground, or swim in the water. people eat fried monkey, gorilla heads, mole rats, calf fetus, deer penis, barbecued frog, cow's vagina, butterflies & dragonflies........... you name it, there are people who eat it!

Bird's nest was considered strange food in the book. hahha... i guess it's strange in the way how people discovered it was edible, and even turned it into a delicacy. can you imagine the first cavewoman who discovered bird's nest? hmm this hard and colourless thing stuck on the cave wall looks delicious. let's boil it and drink it. they must have died trying to eat countless out "delicious-looking" things.

Did you know that there are people who suffer from an obsessive compulsion to eat dirt from the ground. it's a medical condition called geophagy which literally means eating the ground.

$%^&*#@???!!!
