The Art of Getting By

Bazaar stall @ The Mind Cafe this Saturday!

Tuesday, June 26, 2007

***** Update: i forgot to mention that i'll be at the 2nd floor. Up the stairs turn to your left!

Hellooooooooo!

I'll be having a booth selling my handmade trinkets at the Yebber Fashion Fusion Bazaar, at Mind Cafe @ Boat Quay. The vendors will be selling mainly brand new fashion accessories like jewellery, apparels, shoes and bags. This is not a flea market hence you won't be seeing second-hand items :)

The mind cafe is basically a local-based board games cafe for friends to gather to eat and play board games at the same time. The tables and sofas are long and spacious suitable for big groups of people, as well as for events and parties. Here's a link to their site.

The location is fully air-conditioned with 3 stories filled with shopping opportunities on Saturday, hence you don't have to be afraid of shopping under the hot sun or in the rain! It's also conveniently within walking distance from Clarke quay, Raffles place and City hall MRT station, so you could be dropping by on your way to Funan IT mall, Suntec City, Clarke quay, or strolling along the Singapore river!

Here's the link to the event for a relaxing Saturday shopping day!

Date: 30th June '07 (this coming saturday!)

babi brought me out for supper

Sunday, June 17, 2007

HELLO! i've been sick for some days. major flu. i've missed so many good things, like my absolutely definitely free trial yoga classes, and outing with frostin austin! he came by our sunny island for a few days but i'm sick!! boooooooooooo. sick sucks sucks sick.

And i'm stuck with bland porridge and soup, not that they are bad cos they help me get well. but i crave for oily food with lotsa salt.

Babi is so nice he brought me out for supper in the rain. in fact, i just came back from my yummilicious fantastico supper of er, noodles, egg, luncheon meat and pineapple bun. MMMMMMM........ totally cheered me out of my moody sickness. yays!! babi is so good. i love babi. wheeeeeee!

Save me from myself

Saturday, June 16, 2007

YES i finally changed my blog song (for those who can hear) haha... i absolutely ADORE this song by Christina Aguilera. turn up the volume and plug in your headphones... and submerge yourself in her clear and beautiful vocals.

A nice little tune, plus a couple of strings and good vocals. a song can be so simple yet so beautiful :)

Save Me From Myself by Christina Aguilera
Album: Back To Basics

It's not so easy loving me
It gets so complicated
All the things you've gotta be
Everything's changin
But you're the truth
I'm amazed by all your patience
Everything I put you through

When I'm about to fall
Somehow you're always waitin
with your open arms to catch me
You're gonna save me from myself
from myself, yes
You're gonna save me from myself

My love is tainted by your touch
Cuz some guys have shown me aces
But you've got that royal flush
I know it's crazy everyday
Well tomorrow may be shaky
But you never turn away

Don't ask me why I'm cryin
Cuz when I start to crumble
You know how to keep me smilin
You always save me from myself
from myself, myself
You're gonna save me from myself

I know it's hard, it's hard
But you've broken all my walls
You've been my strength, so strong

And don't ask me why I love you
It's obvious your tenderness
Is what I need to make me
a better woman to myself
to myself, myself
You're gonna save me from myself

yoga fun!

Wednesday, June 13, 2007

I went for a free yoga trial at True Yoga with Desiree. It was a session called Hot Yoga, and it was truly very hot. i mean, we did the usual yoga stuff in a heated room and i sweated like crazy. whew! but i felt so refreshed and detoxified after the session, like all the bad greasy toxics sweated out of me. i hope. but it is definitely a good way to work out. just that membership is wayyyyy out of my financial means. i gotta be happy with free trials for now.

In a totally different issue, you know how i always like to get my friends to help me advertise my accessories blog to their friends? most guy-friends that i asked are bound to at least hesitate a little. haha that's completely understandable since it's girly stuff anyway. but some guys are totally repelled by the idea, so i came up with a theory that they must be sexually insecure. ahahha! if not, why would they be uncomfortable talking about girl stuff? it's like some guys who have to constantly remind me how they hate the colour pink and gays are fucked up. heyheyhey what makes you think that i even have the slighest suspicion that you might possibly like pink? hmmmph. i know bra likes pink and he's not gay hahaha!

good business

Thursday, June 07, 2007

Tuesday night i received business from a friend's friend who wanted a pair of earrings by thursday. i figured i had to rush to the bead shops to get some parts that i
required, to the bookstore to get padded envelopes, then to the mailbox
to post the final product. haha it was quite exciting. and i found big
big pieces of bubble wraps that i can cut and insert into my envelopes, instead
of having to buy those unnecessarily big padded envelops that they sell at
Popularat $1 each. whoohoo!

I went home and had fun packaging my earrings with nice ribbons too haha! i think i'm suited for such frivolous chores.

Today is a good day. i find that i'm evolving into a happier person. because i'm feeling more loved :) i love you :)

happy things to say

Wednesday, June 06, 2007

Hello! sorry that i haven't been updating you regularly, www.chocolatekissess.blogspot.com! cos i've been busy updating my other pet project, www.honey-milk-tea.blogspot.com. i'm so happy! cos i've finally made my first batch of sales some days ago, a grand total of 4 items have been sold that day haha! which is cool since i've only started business 'some days ago' too. i've got other sales enquiries too but not confirmed deals.

Andandand it's great that some of my friends have been so supportive of my project :) i know some of them have been publicising to their friends for me and posting ads on their blogs, especially my jazz dance girls haha... feels so heartwarming to know that they're excited for me too :) wheeeeeee!

But of course, not everything has been pleasant. already among my very limited customers, i've got this one unpleasent experience with a potential one. ey but i will learn how to deal with people. i'm a very nice shopkeeper. really!

Yay! lemme post some pictures of our trip to the middle east-......

...ernish part of Singapore. hehe. we went to arab street and the surrounding middle easternish streets.

There was lishi and desiree and i but somehow we weren't in a photo-whorish mood cos the weather was too hot. thus i only managed to capture lishi in her tai-tai pose. see! doesn't she look like some 80s tai-tai with her expensive little handbag and gigantic poser sunglasses! haha :p

We came to this shop at Haji lane which displays an extensive variety of old-school/vintage toys and furniture and basic items like telephones and biscuit tins that commonly appeared in Singapore before the 90s. i was thrilled by the mouldy soft drink bottles and my childhood toys like kuti-kuti and those tiny explosive sachets which we used to throw on the floor during chinese new year for cheap thrills.

Yipee! after a perspiringly hot trip outdoors we met some hall neighbours for dinner at New York New York. had an extremely enjoyable dinner although the food wasn't too good. but great company makes up for everything! :)

From left: hongye, lishi, benny, wilson, me, dilys junkang!
